I forgot to remember to forget.

Well I'm mostly settled in my new place. I almost got crushed under the bed while they were putting it up but thankfully, my maid came to the rescue so it's allll good. Plus, I have now managed to acquire this magical thing called a mattress making it easier to sleep. Yeah, that's how lucky I am.

(Wearing: shamrock green coat from H&M, jersey top with zippery detail from Forever New, vintage black leggings, greyish green suede ankle boots from Nine West, the Paolo bag from Lena Erziak, vintage ring)

Wow, I look like a spaz in the last picture. Oh, well.

I wore this when I decided to go shopping with the girlies because well, this coat is the shizbomb and those shoes are the most comfortable pair of ankle boots a girl could ask for. You could literally run in these. No, really. I did.
This is my new skin top. Every season, I pick one tee shirt that I repeat over and over and over until my friends get so sick of seeing it, they try to dispose it off into the garbage chute. It's got these slight zippery details on the sides that you can't see because that coat of grey beauty masks it.
Thanks again to the lovely Leona and Hasna, the ever fabulous designers of the luxe handbag line, Lena Erziak for the fantastic bags! You guys are the beyond awesome!

I suckered my brother, Rohan into taking these pictures. He seemed pretty miffed.

Thanks a ton for all the comments relating to my Tavi Rant in the last semi-angsty post. I think it's important to throw light on how people continue to invalidate someone's work, despite the promise it so clearly shows, solely because of her/his age. On another note, since when did fashion journalism become about dedicating posts on Jane Aldridge (of Sea of Shoes fame) 's dating status, on Lauren/Lo feuds and whether Whitney Port has a better sense of style than Roxy Whathername on the City?
The American public, in general, as I've come to realize is both absurdly obsessed and inexplicably resentful of youth showing promise. They obsess over them and then they bitch like crazy. Like someone pointed out in some article somewhere, how can they forget that girls about 2 years older than Tavi are working full time as models, jet-setting around the world and encountering all sorts of people in unknown places? Young kids have skipped grades, kids get degrees in physics and math and they're claiming that fashion is too complex, too complicated for a teenage mind?
A lot of resentment clearly comes from the fact that barely any of fashion's greatest writers or journalists (although I would hardly count these particular ones as the greatest. Hello, let's embrace Suzy Menkes and Robin Givhan, shall we? The REAL journalists?) were this articulate or in contact with their interests at 13. Also, from the fact that popular bloggers today (for example Rumi Neely of Fashion Toast, Julia Frakes of Bunny Bisous, Jane Alridge of Sea of Shoes, Tavi of Style Rookie and the oldest and most popular blogger of them all, Susanna Lau of Style Bubble) are near celebrities online and otherwise and their blogs are practically being turned into effective online magazines. For non-bloggers, this is hard to accept.
Just remember, the nerdy girl with glasses and a bob plus an opinion one day morphed into Anna Wintour.
Jezebel (thanks for alerting me, Sidewalk Chalk!) and Fake Karl did interesting articles.
NYmag also did a piece on Jane Aldridge of Sea of Shoes fame. Okay, full disclosure: I am not the biggest fan of SoS. But even though NYmag had nice things to say about her, a lot of the commenters were just plain ol' nasty. She was blamed for being everything from a "sickening, rich kid" to "a total narcissist" to "a talentless ass".
Yes, admitted it's easier being fabulously dressed at all times when you have a bottomless bank account as Jane clearly does but that still does not render her talentless, solely because she can afford lovely things. If that were the case, every rich kid in the world would be dressed head to toe in tasteful pieces. Jane may be stinking rich but she definitely has talent in throwing things together, is sophisticated and I can see her as a successful stylist/editor in the future. Just because SoS gets shitloads of attention and all that jazz (YEAH HUH I just said "all that jazz"), it does not reduce her to a stuttering, talentless buffoon.

Okay, you're beginning to yawn and unfollow me, so I'll stop.

Ooh and this is my new style blogger obsession: Betty leblogdebetty.com
She's FAB, I'll tell ya.

I watched New Moon last Monday and WOW that was a bad movie.
Edward constantly wore more make-up than Bella, whined like an idiot and cried throughout. Bella is beyond slutty and a total bitch. Jacob is too beautiful to believe. Alice was adorable. The storyline was hopeless to the point of it getting nauseating. I was nearly crying into my popcorn.
I kid you not.
The whole movie was a boring charade of "I'm so brokenhearted because my boyfriend of a few months left that I scream as if I'm in labor every night" and "I did it to protect you" (EVERY character in the goddamned movie says this at least twice), "I love you so much, it hurts", "I'm a groovy vampire who sparkles, bitches!".

The word "BLAH" comes to mind.
How it had the biggest opening day in history, is beyond me. Whatever happened to the best movie of all time: The Virgin Suicides? Or you know, HARRY POTTER? Is there anything more exciting than coolass wizards/witches brandishing harmless looking wands that actually produce brilliant spurts of light and kill you? Yeah, let me answer that: NOTHING.
HP owns the Twilight saga. OWNS like cupcakes own cake.

Alright. Now I shall proceed to attempt to memorize the history of print culture.

YEAH, BITCHES I'M JUST THAT COOL.

LoveLoveLove,
Arushi

PS- R.I.P Brittany Murphy. The best die too soon.

I love your coat! The color is perfect.

I'm totally of the same mind about Tavi. I guess fashion writers just feel threatened by her and insecure.

I love your writing. Do you study journalism? Funny how your post is about young bloggers. You should see what I just posted about celebrity kids. Lol. Its so true how people can start hating when someone is successful. SoS had to take off comments on her page because of nasty people.

I adore your coat and I must have that ring!

And I completely agree with you about Twilight. I don't understand why people like it! I refuse to read the books or watch the movies. But I absolutely love Harry Potter. Nothing can beat HP!

& you're so right about how no one wants youth to show promise and such.

Everyone who reads you most def knows YOUR promise of a bright future. I have a feeling Tavi will be ok too. And you look killer in emerald lady!

i've not read the books but twilight makes me want to barf.
the overacting&overall TERRIBLE execution of it all makes me a little sick. i mean maybe i'd like the books if i tried to read them(i honestly don't think i can bring myself to do it i've heard of the plot and it makes me gag a little)i'd like them?
but then i just can't sink to a oh-my-God-i've-turned-twelve-i-love-you-R-Pattzzzz-omg-i-saw-you-in-person-now-i-cry-like-a-loon level.just,no.
and yeah i think the worst part about blog fame are the HATERS. i mean really people?don't be mean! it's their personal thing they don't need to be criticized for every single thing or their outfits dissected into oblivion!!THEY'RE NORMAL PEOPLE!!
which i guess kind of shifts into celebrity.
you're right, here there's this intense obsession with celebrity. but, i feel like, there is a unrepresented population who doesn't give two shits about britney spears going to get sushi!

&yeah. so tragic the people lost this year. it's been intense.and unbelievable.

&&yes!!that IS a velvet bodycon dress...
one can only hope/pray/wish/get down on their knees and beg

p.s. i love your bag.loads.

I love that bag, and the color of your coat really suits you!

Also, Jane is my absolute favorite blogger. I don't think the size of your bank account can dictate whether or not you have style. The most stylish people have thrown together pieces they've bought in thrift stores... and the richest people often look the most drab. And that's all I have to say about that ;)

Awesome bag and shoes! Agree with the blogger bashing, but then again, people will always bash those in the limelight, whether it's bloggers, actors or singers. I guess journalist bashing bloggers is the same as Oasis telling the press they had every other band on the planet. Pure envy combined with a bit of resentment they didn't think of something first.

I actually watched Twilight for the first time a few hours ago and didn't even get the hype for the first movie. Is there a storyline? Why would any girl want to date a guy who's that pale and is 90 years her senior? I can already see how this 'you're not good for me... you need to leave' 'no, I want to be near you' is going to get old...

hey, just stumbled upon your blog and must say i'm very entertained by the way you described things. so lively and fun. there are not so many writings that are able to keep readers engaged, but yours did it very well.

i'm not a fan of jane aldridge too but i think she got talent. i'm agree with you, sometimes rich kid are being addressed as "talentless" or "narcissist" most of the times. i wonder why. i think jane is a smart girl with a good fashion sense.

oh and, i love your oxfords. they are really classic. nice pictures too. i'd definitely come back to check more fun here so... i'm now a follower :)

off to read your post about tavi gevinson...
