I know I said I wouldn't have much to do last weekend but brood and study but it turned out to be a pretty fun, eventful one. I went for the ST after party (was too late for the actual show. I was studying bio obsessively and trying to figure out whether I'm going to stay my mere 5 feet 4 inches or grow to be 6 feet through the ratio of my T genes. Or. Something.) and then a party for my last day at the internship and Monique's last day in India.
It was totally rad and I got to meet interesting, fabulous people wearing interesting, fabulous things,t generally kicking my "I just pulled this on a second ago" outfit's ass. Nearly, anyway.
This post is seriously delayed but I have just had WAY too much going on. And the fact that I'm moving simultaneously doesn't help either. There are jackets, shoes, books, CD's and chargers (phone, laptop, iPod) littered everywhere and I have a permanent headache. Not to mention the ridiculous stuff I've managed to unearth. I wonder what possessed me to buy a Flo Rida CD? Or that hideous, hideous toga-esque dress?
The pictures are from an hour before I left so my hair looks pretty gross and I'm pretty much sans any kind of make-up.
This skirt is so fun even thought people have to stand about 5 feet away from me when I'm in it!
I got endless compliments at the ST after party and so thank you so much to Abigail for sending these over!
The only word I can think of is epic. I love you, A! You and your satins and velvets and tulles.
This is going to be heading over to the Gossip Girl set in two weeks so you might spot it on B, S or J! I'm so badass, it's insane.
For everyone who doesn't know: Abigail Lorick is the designer behind Blair's designer mom, Eleanor Waldorf's line. She basically defined Blair's dressing aesthetic along with the costume designer extraordinaire, Eric Daman. Her label is all about beautifully feminine, ladylike dresses, skirts and suchlike. She's pretty much a darn big deal. I have 3 more pieces and I'll be posting those up soon, as well! I know I keep saying I'll post this and that up and then keep delaying it even further .... but well, I promise I'll do it soon. Or if I don't remember, I'll just stick a post-it on my head till I do it. Cool? Kay.
Geez, I'm weird.
It's my birthday today and so I'm going to go and splurge on pretty, coveted things AND NO, YOU CANNOT STOP ME! It's the only time of the year I can buy whatevertheheck I want without feeling even the teeniest bit guilty.
I am watching Marie Antoinette. Kristen Dunst is unbelievable. Didja know that the shoes were custom made for the movie by M Blahnik himself? Yeah-huh. Goddamit.
As most of you know, I also write for Haute Mimi International and my gorgeous editor, Millissa would like to share something with you all:
----------------------------------------
In September, during fashion week, I saw makeup artists applying a face cream on all the models' faces before applying their makeup. I noticed how firm and vibrant their skin was and I just had to know what it was. I asked the makeup artist what cream she was applying onto her clients and she said it was called Velixa. I promptly went online that night and ordered the day lotion and night cream. My package arrived quickly and my skin has never looked better.
The line currently offers Age Defense for Day, a light whipped day lotion and youth replenish for night, a decadent moisturizing cream for overnight renewal. Both products are made from the most potent anti-oxidants available in an over-the-counter skincare product. The line is scientifically proven to work effectively to tighten and illuminate your skin right after application. With continuous use, the whipped day lotion and night cream are proven to reduce
the appearance of fine lines and signs of ageing. So forego the peels, plastic surgery and Botox. Instead, optimize your skin's beauty and health with Velixa, the cult fave of the fashion world which is now available via the the Velixa website www.Velixa.com

Btdubs, Haute Mimi is going to print! And I'm going to be a contributer! More deets later ;)
By the way, I REALLY do not need another tweet exclamation pointed to oblivion stating "OmG NeW mOoN is Wayyyy ToO CoOl" or "have you ever SEEN
edward cullen? he is magical". No, he is not. And no, the release of New Moon is NOT the sole reason for my happiness. So sue me.
What's the obsession about, anyway? Full disclosure: I read the books. Liked em'. Got a tad bit obsessed. When everyone else did (obsessions of epic proportions I might add), I decided to re-read and analyze what was so spectacular. What did I find? NADA. No ladies, Edward Cullen sparkling his pale tushy off is not what I call a work of great literature. Jacob and Alice are the only two entertaining characters the book has to boast of. And that's why I will be watching the movie when it releases in India next week. For hilarity's sake. What with Bella being all lame and depressed over the loss of lame and depressed ol' Edward Cullen and all (Oh, Edward I love you. No Bella, I love you more. NO Edward, I love you the most. I love you Bella, but you must stay away from me. WATCH ME SPARKLE, BITCH). I mean, what's her deal anyway? She's dating a guy about, I don't know..a hundred and fifty years older than her and then she loses her shit when Jacob has a thing for her daughter who's only about 18 years younger. I mean, math has never been my strongest suit but c'mon. 18 is WAY less pedophilic than a grand 150. What's the guy to do, anyway? He's SURROUNDED by pedophiles.
Anyway, this rant is getting dull. I'm going to go now. and make a detailed list of all the clothing I need. I just dug out every last piece of my winter stuff (I've moved, yay!) and have come to the depressing realization that I have zilch. Goody. What kind of girl doesn't love shopping? The dull ones, I'll tell ya.
PS- I'm covering a designer from Iceland, Steinun for Models and Moguls. Also covering Lena Ezriak for Vogue India. And I'm doing an interview for Style Sample Mag where I myself was featured a while back. Oh, and Duskin, the line that was featured in Refinery29 a week back. Andandand, DiscoRuinedMyLife. Stay tuned, bloggies!
I'm out, folks. The T/X/Y/W genes (I'm so flunking bio) await.
A*
