Wearing: Oh My Frock leopard print jacket, Blank NYC jeans, Senso Acacia shoes via Solestruck, Lena Erziak Anthony bag, Maxstudio sunglasses, Zara fedora, random black top.
,
Solestruck, the footwear powerhouse consisting of copious amounts of JC, Senso, United Nude, Report, Sam Edelman and other high street, high impact pieces were awesome enough to send me these rad Senso Acacias. Thanks, you guys! These don't even require me to write down a long monologue on their sheer badass-ery. They're black bootie wedges with a suede heel and leather upper sole. There's a thin silver lining between the two, giving it a semi eerie futuristic effect. Also, random fact: they make your feet look teeny. When they came in the mail, I got a little sad thinking they'd be too small to fit my feet into (US 7.5) but they're perfect. . The architectural heel's a cool 5 inches with a 1 1/2 inch (I think) platform making them super comfortable in addition to being super covetable. You can snag them here or just scroll through other jaw droppingly cool stuff on Solestruck.
Also, Oh My Frock, a fantastic indie fashion store sent me this leopard print, structural jacket (I wore a knotted dull gold necklace by them in my last outfit post). I am OBSESSED with it and keep wearing it every few days. The cut is so incredible and versatile. It goes with skirts (wore it with a high waisted, silk pleated skirt 2 weeks ago), jeans, leggings, shorts. Also, I love that the print is something eye catchy like leopard but it's not the usual garish color (which I love also, make no mistake) but a pale green-y/black combination.
These jeans are from Blank NYC which is an all denim label and these are just one of those dream denims. Y'know the kind that just fir perfectly and don't make your ass look weird. Mega like! I'm coveting a pair of badass leather shorts from Blank next. Check out their website as well, they're in my sidebar too!
A couple of fun giveaways coming up soon, stay tuned ;)
Check out my Teen Vogue mention here.
A week back, the news that Carine Roitfeld, EIC of Vogue Paris (as she called French Vogue) had "resigned" broke out, causing thousands of fashion fiends across the world to lament this obviously great loss to the Conde Nast publication. Since then, a tirade of news pieces, mostly from Racked and The Cut have been released, stating that Carine was quite possibly fired.
Why? She lost Vogue Paris Balenciaga. She made back door deals with upcoming designers (allegedly). She sparked major issues with LVMH on the whole and also her extra consulting habit was getting tedious. Her issues went from being coolly politically incorrect to offensive (exhibit A: her December issue with guest editor Tom Ford - whose dip is another issue, involving a shoot of little kids in full makeup and luxury clothing/lingerie).
I don't really have a hard time believing all this considering she sounds pretty high up in her interviews.
Of course, there is absolutely no denying that she was an incredibly talented designer with a panache for the androgynously sexy. But was she that fantastic an editor? What are your thoughts?
