OhMYGOD. SO I ALMOST DIED. I'M NOT EVEN KIDDING. YEAH. TRUE STORY.

...I removed my hand from the caps. So a while back, while getting back from a meeting for my school editorial board with 3 friends, an auto rickshaw slammed into our car on the side I was sitting on and the glass shattered and everything and the rickshaw totalled :| SCARY STUFF. Then, this being India and all, a crowd of about 150 (I kid, I kid) landed up alongwith the police and it was time to freak the fuck out. The driver just stood around, looking helpless and we were smack in the center of the street with the auto driver all bloody and this passenger making a huge scene over a few cuts. Anyway, we left largely unscathed (I have a tiny bruise for posterity) and then ate cookies.

So that was that.

Anywho.

Ever since they hit the scene, I remember having a love/hate relationship with bandage-anything. I got increasingly bored with the Herve Leger black numbers every Kim Kardashian and Mandy Moore was donning and so I gave up on my bandage fantasy. A few months back, I came across Pleasure Doing Business via my personal shopping mecca, Shopbop. And I knew FREAKIN ecstasy. Let me tell you, it is rarely that I use this sentence from this total BS English chapter we did last year so this really does means something.  Their website has a lookbook consisting of a melange of bright hued skirts, accentuating all the right parts of your body. Their infamous five band skirt was literally calling out my name. I could hear it chanting from it's showroom in downtown LA.
And despite the fact that the likes of Kristin Cavallari and her posse of Hollywood rugrats have been snapped wearing their pieces, so has Mary Kate Olsen, so I think that satiates my need for coolness associated with the skirt. Rihanna and Heidi Klum have been snapped wearing the skirt in the horizontal striped version, as well. Basically, it's a very high-profile collection that has been, as Intermix claims, been spotted on everyone who's anyone.

Anyhow, the fabulous folks over at PDB generously sent over two gorgeous, decadent skirts; one in tangerine and the other in a pale lapis.

(Wearing: Pleasure Doing Business SS tangerine skirt, 1986 sheer tank with cage imprints, black vintage beaded bracelet, Charles and Keith basic black pumps with a sculpted heel, 1986 oversize sunglasses in white)

I have a lot to say about this skirt as well and that's coming soon! Oh, and you can just meander over to their website to maybe snag yourself a skirt, as well?

Also, I heart these sunglasses. They're massive and have a BIGASS viewing circumference.

Oh, and on another note, I just started my internship at the Communication Council, a fashion PR agency in New Delhi, India. Yesterday was my first day and the agency was working on a Tag Heuer event (the label was celebrating hitting 150 years). I basically got a first hand look at all the work going behind something of that sort, almost as informative as Kell on Earth! I'm going to try and get in a few shots of the space soon. The people were super nice and it almost makes up for having to get up at the crack of dawn in the middle of summer. Posting pics up of the Zara India launch soon!

PS- Anyone been to Singapore or Malaysia have any shopping tips for me? Going there for about a week next week! You know what to do ;)

Hey! So as I mentioned before (with utmost modesty), Grazia featured me in a teensy little feature in the April (Anniversary) Issue. And since I'm bereft of a camera (see last post) for at least a few days, I figured I might as well put up a jpeg of the feature (or, you know, 4 lines and 4 pictures).

SORRY, SORRY, SORRY CAMERA GODS FOR THE BULLSHIT PICTURES. DO NOT MAKE ME BURN IN CANON HELL *SOBS*

Kthxbai.

You say Goodbye, and I say Hello

Last post, I introduced you guys to the sick new label, 1986. I'm not the biggest advocate of prep and so this skirt is probably the last piece anybody would expect to see on me. However, I decided that changing things up a little is hardly ever a bad thing and while it could lead to disastrous  embarrassing results, it was worth a shot.

This skirt is very Luella. Whimsical, cutesy, fun and something I'd expect to see on maybe Alexa Chung. I think Olsenboye did a similar version but I very much prefer the bow on this one; it's wider and not as geometric.

(Wearing: 1986 bow skirt in electric blue, Misbhv "I got No. 5" tank, vintage cerulean pumps and Lena Erziak black bucket bag with gold chain link detailing)

I think 1986 had something like a ruffled blouse or a sassy sheer top in mind with this, but a bow skirt was enough prep for an outfit as far as I'm concerned. I was literally having creepy dreams of me sprouting a bonnet and morphing into Little Miss Bo Peep. True story.

This tank de-preps the outfit somewhat and also, you know, it's badass. I think I picked up these pumps at some vague, nondescript vintage store and loved them because they were a slightly less uncomfortable version of last season's Pradas. Well, I was wrong about that. I can hardly walk in these and feel like my toes are being crunched up like friggin gravel upfront. Oh, the things we do for shoes. *le sigh*

(Wearing: 1986 breton stripe tee with gold embellishments, 1986 Blair Waldorf silk skirt with gold buttons, pink tweed heels with red platforms, Lena Erziak hold metallic skinny hobo)

This outfit is so quintessentially nautical. The embellishments add a fresh twist to an otherwise basic breton shirt. This skirt, nicknamed the "Blair Waldorf" is scarily typical of it's namesake Gossip Girl character. Extremely preppy but with a flirty undertone.

This slinky bag is one of my absolute favorites. I have a few friends who detest the gold but I think it's just the right amount of ostentatious. Plus, I love how it's not chunky and very, very sleek. Lena Erziak's Fall collection is out and you can check it out here.

You can check out 1986's blog here and do follow it for more updates on international shipping, etc. You can also check out their Facebook page here and their Twitter page here.

And sorry for the terrible pictures; camera still in remission.
Until next time! (that was dorky and supremely lame)
