Unopened letter to the world

Calista is a jaw dropping, gush worthy, swoon inducing, rad new label based in NYC. The fabulous designer duo, Brigitte Kum and Sofia Shannon from IN, USA and Beunos Aires respectively are both gorgeous, lovely girls. Their collection is all unstructured lace dresses (an ode to menswear that Brigitte is OBSESSED with (Sister!), leather, leather and more leather (works for me) and luxe basics like silk tanks and plaid tops (not shirts but tops). Updated versions of the basic leather skirt, etc. made me want to die and spend my college fund on the entire line.

Wearing: Calista Jamie Gingham hazel top, Calista Inda Scallop leather skirt, Charles and Keith zipper booties, Boyy Sylvester bag in black, 1986 braided silver necklace.

So I love how the back of this top because it makes me feel like Batman. Okay, stop staring at me like I'm a nut. Stop it. Full disclosure: I actually almost ran around my room shouting "Batman in the HOUUUSE" with the back flaring like a freakin badass plaid cape behind me. I can't remember when I've felt cooler.

Also, I've always been a little apprehensive of wearing like a leather dress? Maybe because I'm a measly 5 feet 4 inches and I maintain that you need to be a minimum of 5 feet 6 to don one of them black beauties. So the obvious solution is a leather skirt. I love the Inda because of the cute detailing at the waist and because it isn't bodycon. A bodycon leather skirt only looks good on Daria Werbody, take it from me in writing. And that is because she is a goddess from outer space (hiii Daria!). So consequently, you can feel like a badass without like, looking like an extra from Dynasty.

Boyy does these gorgeous, somewhat utilitarian bags and this season they've gone really big on custom metal clasps on the pieces in some form or the other. I got this fucking amazing clutch but more on that later. This one is seriously a life saver because I've been looking for a cool fringed bag for ages. Originally, I wanted a brown suede version but I loved this one too much to pass it up. I also really love that it has these teeny chain link strands peeking from beneath, giving it a hardware edge, you know?

Oh, and thanks to Sample Sale Forum for interviewing me here!

Later!

Locked hearts and hand grenades

Sky Ferreira is most probably starring in Diesel's Spring11 campaign. Could there be a better fit? Sky is fucking rad and is probably the best fit for the "Be Stupid" campaign, which according to me is pretty much the most interesting high street campaign to hit the magazines since like, CK. And you know we're talking now.
Oh, and also Kristin Prim. Yes, like KP of PRIMM Magazine AKA my raison d'etre. And I MEAN, the reason for my existence. The magazine is so fresh; the photography, the styling (current issue's seriously heavy on the Jeremy Scott and Etro pieces. Loves it), the articles. I'm just toofreakinexcited about this campaign and am hoping it's something as cool and controversial as MJ campaigns before he started sticking perfume bottles into his crotch. I'M TALKING TO YOU, MARC. Yeah, you! Your clothes make me want to die and go to style heaven but you're making us worshipers cry (not to mention, thoroughly confused) here, with your avatar 180.

You mighta noticed a blatant lack of resort/men's shows' coverage on this little blog right here, but it's only because I know you all stalk style.com just as much as I do and I don't feel the need to piss you off with runway pictures and try to insinuate that you guys are incompetent and can't just type out an address. I will be giving my opinion soon though (hello Alexander Wang slouchy sweaters, come stay in my closet forever. Kthxbai).

I have NO idea why I look so mad here, either.

And yes, I know the shoes are slightly big but I always buy mine a half size larger. They're more comfortable that way.

Wearing: 1986 studded grey skirt, white shirt with pale white sheer stripes, Tt Collection Dylan skinny stretch blazer, 1986 necklace, Karen Zambos fur vest, MaxStudio square toe hidden platform buckled pumps in metallic bronze, white hairband from some random store, croc kiss lock bag from The Scarlet Room

I've introduced 1986 to you twice.  This is from their latest collection. Seriously, majorly, HEART THIS.
I suspect it's magic.

Tt Collection has, hands down, the best luxe basics collection (I mean, if you're looking for something under $700, which I am, obviously).

I got this vest from Karen Zambos ages ago but today because it rained, it was cool enough to wear it. It's this gorgeous melting bronze color.

And you know you love my wannabe Mulberry!
.

PS- You have GOT to take a look at Calista. Their stuff is fucking amazing. Proof coming soon.
