Wearing: Love gold pleated dress, Tt Collection Dylan skinny blazer, Forever 21 gold necklace, Report Signature Edson multi colored shoes.

I received this Grecian inspired dress from Love clothing  a month or so back and instantly fell in love with it. It's just so...pretty (for lack of a more descriptive term). It's sleeveless but you can't see because I threw on this blazer for a more structured look. The color is a gorgeous, dull, slightly shimmery gold and I don't think these photos really do it justice (the lighting is bullshit). It's slightly cinched in at the waist which gives more shape.

You guys probably know Love from Topshop but definitely go ahead and check out their website for more cute pieces.

It's getting pretty chilly and I added black translucent tights in the evening which actually worked with the pale gold of the dress that gets kind of shimmery in the evening.

What's the verdict on my new header? It's actually an illustration Kaitlin Kalijuvee did of me. I wanted to use something less blah but I'm not a 100% confident about it. Thoughts?

Lots of great collaborations coming up and check me out on Teen Vogue Fashion Click and show me some "heart" love!

PS- Please check out my "Citizen of the Web" feature over at Hello, In The Know here. Thanks so much, Lyle!

$100 Shopbop Gift Card giveaway

Hi, you guys!

In honor of hitting 450+ followers, I've teamed up with Shopbop to give you a $100 gift card to use and buy something fabulous. I've been unhealthily obsessed with the mega webstore for a while, especially escalating when I came across a pair of gorgeous cage booties (HII Stefano Pilati!) on sale at Shopbop a few months ago.

The whole site is overflowing with highly covetable, badass things by the likes of CC Skye (flash ring, be mine), 3.1 Philip Lim (who says sunglasses are only for the summer?), Aida Kibur (takes layered necklaces to a whole other level of awesomeness), etc. Just a few random suggestions.

The giveaway is going to last for 10 days, that is, till the 28th which gives everybody plenty of time to enter! Here's how you can try your luck at winning $100 for Shopbop:

- Follow FabBlab on Google Friend Connect and/or Bloglovin
- For a 2nd entry, tweet the giveaway and follow me on Twitter here (please mention @ArushiFabBlab in your tweet) and/or "Like" my page on Facebook and status the giveaway. Either way, state in your comment below that you've done this so I can add an extra entry in your name.
- IF you're an Anon commenter and don't have a blog, please leave your name and email in the comment.

This is open to ALL INTERNATIONAL READERS (Shopbop offers free international delivery in 3 days. Um, god sent). Unfortunately, not for Pennsylvania bloggers (I'm not sure why this is, sorry).

Good luck!

Oh, PS- I'm planning on going to NYC in summer 11' (June) so if you're based there and have any leads for a PR/Styling/Showroom based fashion internship, please let me know (you can also email me at fabblab@gmail.com)! And PLEASE don't ask me to check out Free Fashion Internships and insult my intelligence. And if you put up in NYC and would just like to hang, let me know as well!

Lots of super exciting stuff is coming up here and I'm looking forward to buying my new camera in a few days (Canon S95) as well.

Lulu's

Yesterday, I went for a shoot with a magazine (can't give any more deets as of now, sorry!) and had to wear something casual as part of it. I ended up wearing a different outfit but this is what I thought I initially decided to go in.

Wearing: Lulu's All in the Lace shorts, black Esprit tee shirt, Forever 21 dream catcher necklace, Topshop leather vest, Zara fedora and Pelle Moda Kenda suede booties by way of Beso and Shopbop.

Can I just I am OBSESSED with these shorts? Since the day I received them in the mail (hallelujah) a week back, I've worn them thrice. That's a whole other level of neurotic. They're this gorgeous white lace and in response to all the tweets asking me whether they're see through: they've got black silk lining on the inside to take care of any malfunctions. Of course, when I pulled it out of the Lulu's wrapping, my first response was something along the lines of "GAH, IT'S UNDERWEAR MOONLIGHTING AS SHORTS. LIES, LIES, LIES" but they're hardly that short. It's very easy for something like lace shorts to look slutty and crass Lulu's did a beautiful job of keeping these fabulous and nothing else.

I've been missing a basic essential from my wardrobe: the black ankle boot. Of course, I have the JC Litas but I needed something I could wear all over the place. So I picked these booties from Pelle Moda via Beso and they're just perfect. The platform is significant so even though I walked around in them for hours during Fashion Week ( previewed here), my feet did not feel numb and dead by the end of it. The heel is around 5 inches or so, which makes you almost at par with the models (KAZAM) which is an added bonus, obviously. Plus because the Litas are already leather, suede fits in perfectly into my wardrobe. The fitting around the ankles is loose which doesn't make you look mega stumpy. What's not to love?

Happy friday, guys!  Have a great weekend.

Illustration of me by Neysa Bove

This is just incredible, I've received two illustrations in a week! Thank you SO much for this, Neysa! Neysa Bove is a graphic designer and illustrator for Mattel, Barbie Consumer Products and worked with Disney before this. +100 cool points. This picture is from this post.

Update: Neysa has quit Mattel and gone back to Disney Couture as an illustrator/graphic designer last month.

A long due outfit post is coming tomorrow, just been ridiculously busy these past few weeks!

Wills India Fashion Week 2010, New Delhi 2

Day 3-5 of WIFW highlights.

Image and video hosting by TinyPicImage and video hosting by TinyPicImage and video hosting by TinyPic Okay, Liza was just breathtakingly stunning.
(Above 3 pictures: Nandita Basu)

The Nandita Basu show was lumped together with the Varun Sardana show and sponsored by Fiama Di Wills. So we all entered into a hall full of teeny bags with body gel and moisturizing shampoo. Not sure what to make of it, exactly. Anyhow, the show kicked off with Nandita B's pieces. Um, hello, perfection? Pebbled knee length skirts, copious amounts of metallics (Anna D Russo would be proud), immaculately constructed pieces, a generous sprinkling of  cutout vests and mesh, monochrome painted faces and impeccable draping. The music was by a live DJ and tabla player, all Indian funk and rhythm.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic In case you're wondering what these colorful concoctions on my side are all about:
The entire outside ring of the Main Show Area (MSA) 1 & 2 was showcasing these rickshaws, each designed in their unique style by a different designer. Because, after all, what's more Indian than a rickshaw?
Image and video hosting by TinyPicImage and video hosting by TinyPic Varun Sardana's models came in next, bedecked in sky high South Indian hairstyles, lots of gold jewelry, hinting towards an undertone of Malyali chic. While the accessorizing was distinctly Indian, the clothing was the sort you'd expect to see at an Alber Elbaz show. Embellished shoes, poofy tutu skirts, oversize sheath dresses in pearly whites, lots and lots of bows, tiered hems and sheer necks. All this while South Indian alternative rock band, Avial blasted the most, unpredictably rad music. What's not to love?

You can check out my coverage for Style Kandy here.

I'm quite disappointed that I didn't get in many more shots of the highlights. I still have some photos from the Prashant Verma show that I really want to share. But others like the stalls, Manish Arora sightings, model off duty outfits, running into stylists in the model trailers, the lounges for in between shows, etc.
I don't have much of an excuse as to why there is a clear dearth of these except for "I'm an idiot". That's the closest I've got to an explanation. You can take a shot at it if you'd like.

More soon!
xx
