SoHo has great shopping. There are a bunch of stores called "Necessities" that are great. right on trend, yet inexpensive. You will get to load up on college essentials!
Greenwich village has great restaurants, etc.

How fun! you'll love it! there's this awesome boutique in Soho (I've forgotten the name, but it's this dark and dingy little thing, I'm sure u'll find it) which has the best dresses at the best prices! u must stop by :)
