never regret anything that made you smile

Wearing: STYLEIN leather shorts, BB Dakota Palmer sequined sweater, Jessica Simpson Dany platforms, Maxstudio sunglasses.

I've been gone for an obnoxiously long time. I had exams since a bit and I'm actually attempting to not flunk out like the classic underachiever case that I am this time round so I don't end up living in a shack with a bunch of bums and actually get into a halfway decent college. So excuse me for my unceremonious AWOL situation and now that I only have one more to go, I promise I'll be posting more regularly.

I'm SO late to the leather shorts bandwagon and I'm more than a little ashamed of the fact. I could just never find the perfect pair. These beauts are from Stylein, a Swedish label of endless fabulosity. Minimalistic separates that will make you want to crawl into them and die. These are perfect because they're not loose or fitted and the length is perfect for me (although I think I got them a size too big).  While my next purchase will be a high waist pair, I know I'll wear these more. Definitely check Stylein out, they've got a shitload of amazing stuff. I actually have an fabulous leather vest from their last collection as well that I wrote to Fashion's Night Out.

Sorry for the bombardment of flowery photos, it's just so lovely outside right now! I also am really loving this lightly sequin sprinkled sweater from BB Dakota. It's a little too long for these shorts but tucked in, it looks pretty good. These photos don't do it justice; the glitter barely shows. Maybe because of the lighting?

By the way, I've gotten unhealthily addicted to Tumblr. I still can't imagine ever blogging exclusively on tumblr but once you start posting bunches of pretty pictures, you just can't stop. It's like a drug. Except with worse withdrawal symptoms. I catch myself wondering whether Diamonds and Studs would've posted a new gif from the Acne show of epicosity yet or whether there are any more mega cheesy Vampire Diaries reblogs yet or perhaps whether Cole Muhr has popped up on COACD today. IT'S TAKING OVER MY LIFE. I need to stop. Seriously.

I think it's time to address a situation that everyone interested in fashion has been single mindedly berating each other about (including me which you might know if you follow me on Twitter): Galliano's departure from the house of Dior. I still have mixed feelings about the whole ordeal. I fully concur that Galliano did deserve to be booted out from Dior considering the hideously depraved things he said but I can't help but feel like we've lost another fashion great in a span of two years. Of course, Alexander McQueen died and Galliano was fully responsible for this whole shebang but it still upsets me because couture will never be the same. The man was, all things aside, a genius. I read a comment on Fashionista, I think: "Praise the art even as you criticize the man". This sums up my feelings exactly.
As for who should replace him, I thought John Jannuzzi's conjecture that Lacroix would fit in beautifully is pretty spot on however, I do believe he  his work lacks that sexual tension interspersed between the ladylike ensembles that Dior is now known for. Rumors are swirling at Paris Fashion Week that Riccardo Tisci might be leaving Givenchy to join Dior while Haider Ackerman will replace him at Givenchy and Hedi Slimane (WHAT, WHAAAT) to take over at YSL with Carine Roitfeld at his side. I mean. Just. TOO MUCH TO DIGEST. Also (YES, there be MORE)- if Carine does not join Slimane at YSL, there are suggestions that she is planning to bring Harper's Bazaar to Paris. What. The. FUCK. And with Ackerman out of the running at Chanel, Alber Elbaz might just end up taking over from Lagerfeld come 2012 when he is purportedly retiring.  DISCLAIMER (wow, I totally just put a disclaimer AFTER all the rumors, I am an inconceivable retard): these are RUMORS (via Fashionista). So don't bust a gut. Paris really is burning.

Okay, this post is already getting too long. Talk t'you guys soon! xx
